Recommended Cooking Guidelines For Traditional Turkey's

Weigh the turkey after stuffing to calculate cooking time and remember ovens vary.

Fan assisted ovens cook at a higher temperature - consult the manufacturer's handbook. Cook the turkey in a conventional oven at 190*C, 375*F, Gas Mark 5. Cover loosely with foil. To brown the bird remove foil for the last 40 minutes of cooking.

As a general guide allow 20 minutes per 454g/1Lb, plus 20 minutes up to and including 6.75kg /15Lb. Above this weight allow 15 minutes per 454g/1Lb, plus 15 minutes.
