Olive & Deli Range

We have recently increased our deli range of with olives ranging from plain green pitted to some more adventureous types such as blue cheese or jalapeno stuffed olives. In addition to this we have also introduced items such as pesto, humus & feta stuffed peppers.

Wondering what to do with some of the products?

Harissa is a North African hot red sauce or paste made from chili peppers and garlic. It can be used both as a condiment and as an ingredient to spice up recipes and is often eaten with pasta, in sandwiches or on pizza. Harissa paste can also be used as a meat or aubergine rub.

Humus is a dip or spread made from cooked, mashed chickpeas, blended with tahini, olive oil, lemon juice, salt and garlic. Serve as an appetizer or a dip. Humus is also served as part of a meze meal or as an accompaniment to falafel, grilled chicken or fish. Garnishes include chopped tomato, cucumber, parsley, sauteed mushrooms, whole chickpeas, olive oil, hard-boiled eggs, paprika, olives and pickles. It can also be served with tortilla chips or crackers or pitta bread.

Basil & Tomato Pesto's are commonly used on pasta. It is very important never to cook pesto because basil when heated gets bitter, simply stir it into warm or cold drained pasta. Pesto is also often served on sliced beef, tomatoes and sliced boiled potatoes or spread onto bread.

Black Olive Tapenade. Serve as a meze with wine, accompanied by ciabatta, breadsticks, and raw vegetables. Use as a simple spread on whole grain breads, crostini or bruschetta. It is the also perfect complement for pasta, a great seasoning for fish or even a topping for a baked potato or use in salads for a dash of extra flavor.
